The heart is not just part of who someone is; it’s the very center. So, what is the heart of Christ? We can see His heart throughout the story of Scripture. We see it in His willingness to put on flesh; we see it in the way He lived on earth; we see it displayed on the cross and in His resurrection. But in the gospels, we read an account where Jesus put words to describe His heart. He said this: “I am gentle and lowly in heart” (Matthew 11:29). What does this mean?

In today’s episode, we are joined by Dane Ortlund, author of Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers. We discuss the heart of Christ--how He is tender, welcoming, and accessible. We talk about why it’s important for us to understand His heart, and how He responds to our sins today. We talk about His attitude to our own suffering, too. Yes, we see His heart for us on the finished work on the cross; but let’s not forget that His heart extends to us today, offering us hope in the midst of our own sin and suffering. Come join our conversation!
