On today’s episode, we talk about a reality that we all share: disagreeing with other people. There are thousands of things we can disagree on with others. Maybe it’s a political or social issue. Maybe it’s a doctrinal issue. Maybe it’s a matter of personal conscience! The point is, disagreements are a reality of our fallen nature. But we believe that there is a good way to do it. We believe we can be people who disagree well! This requires a lot of work. It requires clothing ourselves in humility and engaging in respectful conversations with the goal of listening and learning. It requires acknowledging that we may have strong personal convictions on certain issues while also being aware that we’re limited by our own personal upbringings, experiences, and lack of experiences. And most importantly, it requires keeping the gospel central in every disagreement. Though we may not disagree with believers and unbelievers in the same way, we remember that we are ministers of reconciliation and champion the gospel, which is the message of reconciliation for all people.
