Is God Really Trustworthy? | Ep. 62

Episode 62

On today’s episode, we explore the topic of God’s trustworthiness. Has anyone ever told you to “trust God”? The assumption behind that phrase is that God is trustworthy. But how can we know that He will make good on His promises? Can we really trust that He will be faithful and work all things for His glory and our good? We can find ourselves asking these questions especially in times of suffering. The brokenness of this world can feel at odds with God’s goodness and sovereignty.

But we believe that we can trust God because He is a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. Before He created the world, God entered into a covenant of redemption between the members of the Trinity. He promised to make a way for salvation. And then He willingly went into a binding agreement (covenant of grace) to fulfill this very promise with people who are dependent on Him by design. We can see all throughout Scripture that God is the One who is faithful to fulfill the covenants because it is based on His everlasting love. This is why we can have a sure and confident hope in Jesus.

Joanna wrote a beautiful study on the covenants found in Scripture called “Faithful: The Covenant God from Eden to Eternity”. In this 6-week study, you will see the way that God relates to His people through covenants. We will be going through this study as an online community beginning on May 12th so join us at The Daily Grace Co. Community on Facebook. Again, you can find the study here.
