Self-care is a trendy concept. Our culture glorifies self-care, and many in the church shun self-care. We have to ask: how should believers view self-care in a way that aligns with Scripture? Is self-care really contrary to a self-giving life? Or is there a way to practice it in a way that honors God? In this episode, we talk about how believers ought to be people who work hard and rest well. We ought to be people who joyfully work with excellence in all things, yet we are also mindful of the truth that God made us finite beings. He knows our frames, and He has shown us in Scripture how we need regular rest and refreshment. It can be hard to do both--working hard and resting regularly--well. However, we believe it’s possible and necessary! We can engage in self-care with the goal of loving and serving God and others better. We even talk about different productivity tools in helping us do this! Come join our conversation.
