Thinking Deeply, Forming Convictions, and Loving Our Neighbors | Ep. 94

Thinking Deeply, Forming Convictions, and Loving Our Neighbors | Ep. 94

Episode 94

On today’s episode, we talk about how believers can and should be deep thinkers. Sometimes, it may seem like our culture projects a sweeping generalization that Christians are closed-minded. The perception may be that we’re not logical or rational or able to think deeply about issues. However, we believe that our faith doesn’t cause our minds to go dormant. Actually, when we’re in Christ, our bodies, souls, and minds are redeemed! We’re actually able to think deeply and faithfully about Scripture and other pertinent issues; faith and intellect for hand-in-hand!

In this episode, we dive into how we can think deeply about Scripture and beliefs, and how we can form our convictions. We talk about how logic and reason fit into the normal, everyday things we encounter. We believe that engaging our minds and thinking deeply and faithfully about things also help us love God and love our neighbors better! Engaging our minds and having intellectual integrity doesn’t mean we’re not living by faith. We’re actually imaging our Creator God in using our facilities! And when we do the hard work of engaging our minds on hard topics or grey areas of life, we’re actually striving to be faithful to God’s Word, and we’re depending on the Spirit to form our convictions based on Scripture.
