When Church Hurts with Jana White | Ep. 56
On today’s episode, we are joined by Jana White. Jana is a pastor’s wife, mama to two sweet kids, and master editor at The Daily Grace Company. She enriches our conversation on the sensitive topic of church hurt. We love the local church, but we also know that it is made up of redeemed sinners. This opens up the possibility for fellow believers to hurt one another to varying degrees in the context of the local church. Church hurt is a real pain, and the healing process can be long and slow. Jana knows this pain intimately, and she shares her personal story of church hurt. She even talks about her healing process, which even after five years, is still ongoing. But through it all, she testifies to the faithfulness and goodness of God.
If you have been hurt by the church, you may be tempted to respond to the pain in a few different ways. You may no longer believe that you need the church. Or you may know you need the church, but you’re paralyzed by fear. Because of your past experiences, you may find it hard to genuinely connect with other believers. Jana offers up sweet encouragement to you wherever you are. She also offers thoughts on how the church can come alongside those who have experienced this type of pain. You are not alone, and you don’t have to walk through this alone!
