On today’s episode, we talk about what it means to depend on God. Our culture can tell us to be strong, independent women. To some degree, this message can be seen in Christian culture, too. So what should we do? Is dependence something we should strive for, or should we value independence and strength?
In today’s episode, we give a brief introduction to the doctrine of aseity, which simply states that God’s essence transcends time. He is completely self-sufficient; He is independent of anyone and anything, and this is good news for us! In fact, He created us to be dependent on Him and dependent on fellow believers. If we really think about it, we are far more dependent than we may realize. Yet, so many of us try so hard to live out of our own strength. We discuss this tension in this episode, and we pray that you see the beauty in daily dependence on God and His church.
