About Be Still

Published quarterly, Be Still Magazine equips women to go deeper in their knowledge and love of God’s Word. The articles in each issue are submitted by a diverse group of women from around the world. Our contributors are in different stages of life and cultural contexts, but they are unified around the Word of God and the power of the gospel.

Gospel At Home: Equipping Parents To Make Disciples

Also published quarterly, Gospel at Home equips parents to disciple their children. Each issue equips parents to share knowledge of and love for God with their children through everyday interactions and rhythms. The articles in each issue are submitted by a diverse group of men and women from around the world. Like Be Still, though contributors may come from different cultural contexts, they are unified around the Word of God and the power of the gospel.

What We Are Looking For

In each issue of both our magazines, we publish personal essays, theology articles, and poetry. Our standard word count for articles and essays is between 1000–1500 words. Poems, however, may be much shorter. Not sure what to write about? Our typical topics for Be Still include Christian living, theology, relationships, prayer, quiet time, God’s character, etc. Topics for Gospel at Home include essays about parenting experiences, how the gospel impacts parenting, quiet time as a parent, practical ideas for family discipleship, etc.

Our Audience

Audiences for our two magazines differ slightly. For Be Still, our target audience is community-oriented Christian women between the ages of 25 and 45. For Gospel at Home, our target audience is Christian parents with children between the ages of 5 and 12. For both magazines, we seek to provide these readers with content that is theologically rich and accessible. The work we publish is well-written and rooted in sound doctrine and biblical truth; however, it is also simple enough for a brand-new believer to understand.

Writing Guidelines

Before submitting your work, please familiarize yourself with The Daily Grace Co. Style Guide. Here are a few other guidelines to follow as you write, revise, and submit your piece.

Magazine articles and essays should be between 1000–1500 words, while poems may be much shorter. Please do not submit anything longer than 1500 words.

We use the CSB translation (text edition 2020) for all Scripture references. If you are quoting from another translation, please include that in parenthetical citations.

Before submitting your work, we recommend reviewing our Statement of Faith, following us on Instagram, and checking out a few past issues of Be Still This will help you get a better feel for our publication, audience, and the type of content we publish.

Please be sure to include the title of your work, in addition to your name (as you would like it to be printed). Also, make sure that you indicate which magazine you are submitting to in the body of the email.

All selected writing will go through the standard Daily Grace Co. editing process for grammar, style, usage, and mechanics.

Our team edits content according to the preferences laid out by the Chicago Manual of Style and The Daily Grace Co. Style Guide. We cannot use anything that has been submitted or published anywhere else. This includes your personal blog or website.

Please allow six months from the time of submitting your article to The Daily Grace Co. before submitting elsewhere.

We retain copyright to any work selected for our publications, and you will be unable to publish it elsewhere without written permission.

What To Expect From Us

We receive so many wonderful submissions but are unable to use them all. If your piece makes it into the first round of our editing process, you can expect to hear back from our editors within 4–6 weeks. Once in the editing process, our team will edit your work for grammar, style, usage, and mechanics. You will then be notified if your piece makes it through the final round of edits, and if it does, you will receive a complimentary copy of the magazine upon publication.

If not selected, please note that your piece may not be the right fit for the current issue of Be Still or Gospel at Home. However, we encourage you to keep writing and would welcome additional submissions in the future.
