When I learned about the inductive study method specifically used in scripture, I immediately began to search for books and resources to teach me how to perform these studies. I wanted to understand the nuance between genres and variety of ways of breaking down a passage into paragraphs, sentences, and words. I wanted to be able to do a word study and character studies. I wanted to be able to use an atlas to know where the events were taking place so I could have an idea of what it might have looked like. That’s how I learn. I’ve purchased a couple books that have been very helpful, but when I saw the Daily Grace Company’a first verse mapping journal with the intention of teaching by doing I immediately bought it. It has been an amazing resource for going deeper into scripture.
When they released their verse mapping “ Identity in Christ” study I immediately put it in my cart for my next batch order. Once again, I love the way they teach verse mapping through doing examples, and it was the same with this book. I love using this study method, and I plan to hone my skills…hopefully using more verse mapping study/journals in the future!
Photos are just a couple examples of their five step “verse mapping training” at the beginning of both of their verse mapping books. Never ceases to amaze me how much information can be extracted from scripture, especially verses we’ve heard since we were children, and we think we know the meaning….there’s always more.
