I got this study because I was hoping for a compassionate, Biblical perspective on depression. (There is so much unhelpful and shame-based teaching out there, like "depression is sin! Repent and rejoice always!") This study doesn't shy away from the realities of depression as a logical result of living in a broken, fallen world. I so appreciated the examples of other Biblical characters who struggled with depression, yet who were still men and women of God. If you've ever been shamed by religious people for experiencing depression as a Christian, this study is a helpful and healing resource.
I'm not giving it 5 stars because I feel like some of the scriptures are taken somewhat out of context to be used as "proof texts". I personally found some of Daily Grace's other studies to be more Biblically accurate and helpful for depression, like their Rivers of Renewal or Habakkuk study.
