A Balanced Approach to Physical Health with Robin Long | Ep. 108

A Balanced Approach to Physical Health with Robin Long | Ep. 108

Episode 108

What do you think about your physical health? Do you prioritize eating healthy and exercising regularly? Or do you not put much thought into it? When we look at our culture, we can see two extremes: on one end of the spectrum, there are those who are obsessed with diet and exercise. On the other end, there are those who reject any sort of nutrition and fitness plan because they don’t want to feed into the diet culture. As believers, what should we think about our physical health? Can we approach our physical wellbeing in such a way that glorifies God? Is there any connection between physical health and spiritual health?

Today, we are joined by Robin Long, pilates Instructor and creator of The Balanced Life. In this conversation, she shares how she approaches physical fitness as a believer. Exercise doesn’t have to be about hitting a certain number on the scale. It doesn’t have to be a means of punishing yourself for eating a treat. It’s not about striving to meet the culture’s definition of beauty. Instead, exercising regularly can be a means of honoring God. He gave us bodies, and they’re a gift! They’re vessels that can and should be used to love and serve God and others. And God designed our bodies in such a way that physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health are all interconnected!

If you have ever struggled with body image issues or with tending to your body in a healthy way, this episode is for you. Robin also offers a lot of practical tips on how to make exercise a consistent reality in your life without it being dreadful. You can find her on Instagram at @thebalancedlife.
