Does God want His people to be happy? A common admonition we hear in some Christian circles is to “choose holiness, not happiness”. But are these things mutually exclusive? Does our personal pursuit of holiness come at the expense of our happiness? In this episode, we explore the dynamic between happiness and holiness. When we go to God’s Word, we actually see that the terms “happiness” and “joy” are used interchangeably! This changes how many of us view happiness in our lives! When we look at Scripture, we see that God is after our happiness, too. In fact, we glorify Him most effectively BY enjoying Him. God desires for us to be happy, and He knows that He is the only source of true happiness. Pursuing holiness and happiness are actually intricately connected in the Christian life.
