On today’s episode, we talk about sex. In today’s culture, sex is everywhere. It is embedded in movies, TV shows, music, books, advertisements, and even children’s resources! The general message promoted by our culture is that sex is something that is one’s right to enjoy whenever, however, and with whomever one pleases. There are a wide variety of cultural views, inside and outside of the church! Some consider sex to be dirty or simply a necessary evil for procreation; others view it as a basic biological need or a means of self-fulfillment and self-expression. In general, people think the Christian view of sex is simply oppressive or repressive.
But what does the Bible say? What does God, the Creator of all things (including sex and sexuality!) say about it? What kind of sexual ethic does the Bible promote?
The Bible is not silent on the topic of sex. It actually gives a wide and rich view of sex! It clearly speaks out against sexual abuse, assault, pornography, and other expressions of sexual brokenness due to the fall. In this episode, our prayer is that we would go to God’s Word to take hold of a healthy, biblical view of sex. We want to see beyond what the world or what other Christians have told us about sex and see God’s says about it!
Please note: if you have committed any act of sexual immorality, there is redemption for you in Christ! Also, if this topic is a trigger for you for whatever reason or you experience embarrassment or shame in regards to sex, please seek counseling! Reach out to a biblical counselor or talk to a wise, biblical mentor in your local church.
