This is undoubtedly one of the most popular Christmas songs that has withstood the test of time. It has crossed musical genres; it is frequently played on secular radio stations; and it’s sung in churches across America during the holiday season. But did you know that the themes of “Joy to the World” align with Advent? The lyrics call us to look back and remember what Christ has done and also to look forward to what’s to come. These simple lyrics have such depth, which we discover as we consider the massively important truth that Jesus is the Savior of the world and explore its widespread implications.
