Our Eating Habits and the Gospel with Asheritah Ciuciu | Ep. 49
On today’s episode, we are joined by Asheritah Ciuciu. Asheritah is a wife, mama to three, and bestselling writer and speaker. Her most recent book, Bible and Breakfast, offers 31 devotional prompts along with 31 healthy breakfast recipes. She has also written Full: Food, Jesus, and the Battle for Satisfaction, where she candidly shares her battles with food and how the gospel led to true freedom. This was a wonderful conversation about how the gospel truly does impact every area of our lives -- even the way we view food. The predominant voice on food comes from the world, and Asheritah reminds us that we don’t have to have a secular perspective on this topic. Instead, we can allow the gospel to inform the way we relate to food. She says the hard truth: most of us will find that at the core, our issue is not food itself but idolatry. We are seeking fullness and comfort in things that simply cannot satisfy. But in Christ, we can experience true fulfillment, comfort, and freedom, and in turn, we can rightfully enjoy the good gift of food as God intends!
We pray that you will listen with an open heart and be encouraged. Ask the Lord if this is an area where you can experience more freedom! Be sure to follow along with Asheritah on Instagram. She can be found online at @asheritah and One Thing Alone Ministries. Also, check out her new book, Bible and Breakfast!
