When You Don’t Measure Up | Ep. 35

When You Don’t Measure Up | Ep. 35

Episode 35

On today’s episode, we talk about thoughts and feelings of not measuring up. Regardless of personality type, this is something we all deal with in some capacity. Maybe we feel like we missed the mark; we feel like a failure; we feel unworthy; we feel like we could do more or be better. These thoughts and feelings of inadequacy can be discouraging and even devastating. So what do we do when we feel like we’ve fallen short? First, we have to ask ourselves what our standard of measurement is. What is our standard of perfection and success? The truth is, the only standard that matters is God’s standard -- His holiness. And the hard truth is, we don’t measure up. We’ll never measure up apart from Christ. Jesus is the only answer to our feelings of falling short. And the beautiful thing is, the gospel offers us a better way than striving and failing. We hope this conversation encourages you to seek the Lord. The gospel really does change everything.
