Christ in All of Scripture | A 52-Week Journey of Discovering Jesus on Every Page of the Bible Volume 3
Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
Luke 24:44–45
Have you ever heard that all of Scripture points to Christ but weren't sure what that meant?
Or are you new to studying Scripture and aren't sure how the gospel connects to what you are reading?
Like many Christians, you might spend far more time reading the New Testament than the Old Testament.
If you feel like the Old Testament is intimidating, you’re not alone.
But both Old and New Testaments tell one story, and they are far more connected than we often realize. That story begins in the Old Testament, and it contains numerous threads that run throughout and find their resolution in the New Testament.
This means you can’t fully appreciate the New Testament without also appreciating the Old, or the Old without the New.
And there at the center of this one story that unites both testaments is Jesus Christ.
He Himself is the main character and climax of the story begun in the Old Testament. For that reason, we can appropriately say that Jesus Christ is present in all of Scripture, not just the third of it we call the New Testament.
Christ in All of Scripture Volume 3 covers weeks 27 through 39. The four volumes progress through the Old Testament canonically (this means that this study is not chronological), with this volume covering select passages from Job, the Psalms, Proverbs, and Isaiah.
Special additions in this volume include a look at the Lament Psalms and a breakdown of the prophecies in Isaiah that are about Christ.
The entire Bible is about Jesus, and when you see it for yourself, it will transform your understanding of not only God and His Word but also the work of His Son, Jesus Christ.
