In a little over a week from now, I’ll be finishing volume 3, which means I’ll have read through the entire Old Testament again and will be starting into the New Testament! I’ve seen some less-than-five-star reviews that were related to people wanting a more in depth study. However, for readers who are reading through the Bible for the first time, I think it is just right. I’ve read through the Bible several times before, with and without study guides, and used a study Bible along with the study guides. This year I wanted a study that would guide me through daily readings without the depth. I simply wanted to read the Bible without extensive commentary or other distractions. I’ve been using my non-study Bible ESV and The Story of Redemption study guide, and it has been exactly what I wanted. The Study Guide points to Jesus in every day’s reading, the questions are thoughtful and encouraging, and as with all The Daily Grace Co resources, the books are gorgeous.
In a few cases, I have reached for my study Bibles to answer the daily questions, but for the most part the Bible itself has been sufficient to answer them.
Note to Daily Grace: I believe Page 166 (Daniel 4-6) has errors. Twice the text uses the name David instead of Daniel.
I love this study, and I just ordered the From Eden to Eternity chronological study for next year. Sadly, I had to order the men’s study, because I honestly don’t care for ringed binders. When you have as many The Daily Grace Co studies as I do, they take up too much space on the shelf, and overall I’m not a ringed binder fan. Please bring back the paperback, non-ringed version for the women’s study! Surely I’m not your only customer who feels this way! 😊
