Worshiping Together with Jeremy Schmucker | Ep. 88

On today’s episode, we talk all about worshipping together with other believers with Jeremy Schmucker. Jeremy is the husband of Kristin Schmucker and dad to five beautiful kids. He is the co-founder and CFO of The Daily Grace Company, and he also serves as the Coordinator of Ministries at a local church in the greater D.C. area. Today, Jeremy talks to us about the many different facets of corporate worship. Many of us only think of “worship” as the singing part of our church services. But did you know that music is just one aspect of worship? Our corporate worship includes the call to worship, confession, the reading and preaching of Scripture, giving, and more! Jeremy walks us through these different elements and reminds us that God has told us how He wants to be worshipped in His Word!

We also talk about some barriers to healthy, corporate worship. We talk about the tension some of us may feel with varying musical preferences. We talk about gracious ways to confront theological concerns we may have in the preaching or music selection. We also talk about how just getting to church on Sunday with our families can feel like spiritual warfare! But in the end, regularly worshipping together in the context of the local church is necessary--for His glory and our good!

Our prayer is that you will have a renewed excitement to gather together as a local church body. Although this season of live streaming services has been helpful in filling the gap, there is something special about physically gathering together as the body of Christ. We pray this episode helps you understand what healthy, corporate worship can look like!
