The Bible Study is beautifully crafted in terms of aesthetics. I appreciate the brevity of scripture that connects the Old and New testaments together viewing the trajectory of the gospel from beginning to end. The opening pages with some theological frameworking are really helpful. I find the daily reading to be somewhat redundant. If I read the assigned scripture, much of the daily study repeats the same thing without a ton of nuance or fresh thought in some cases. I also find myself wondering about application at the end of the lessons. You give us some helpful theological information, but what does that mean for us and how might this apply to the reader on each given day? There have also been a few instances where the author states something to the effect of: "we should..." (ex P32) It seems more in line with the overall tone of Jesus to present invitations rather than "should" statements. A wonderment: for the beautiful pages in between lessons that have quotes in the center, were each lesson to include a clear, conscise quote about how each lesson applies to the reader, it could be beneficial to use that quote on these pages so that it would be logical for the reader to tear them out and hang them on a fridge or bathroom wall as a reminder. The quotes chosen don't really stand alone. But, I can imagine that should each quote bear enough weight to stand alone, apart from the study, a reader might even consider framing one and allowing it to become part of the very fabric of one's home. They are so beautiful! Give us some hearty, memorable, stand-alone quotes to connect the dots from head to heart for us, and for these beautiful pages. :)
